Oblivion Olive Oil – Branding, Corporate Identity
Olive oil has its own legacy in History. Therefore, branding, by designing and creating a Corporate Identity for a company and an olive oil product, reverently touches on a theoretical framework built on the values of purity and the concept of the myth that follows the olive oil over the centuries. That is why, in the case of Oblivion olive oil, the myth, the modern perspective and the corporate identity communication strategy were combined to give us the final result through the branding process.
A brand, a myth and a legend
To create the corporate identity for the Oblivion company and its olive oil product, we started from the very theoretical framework of the myth. Olive oil and the story behind its connection with its geographical origin, is combined with the concept of oblivion over the centuries. The very word “Oblivion” forms the context in which the original art of olive oil production is reborn and revived in the collective memory of the customers via the product.
When the brand’s design follows the production process
The cycles that an olive tree goes through to finally produce its coveted fruit that provides us with its final precious product are reflected in the brand’s logo with their visual depiction. An olive oil droplet and the ripples that it creates form the structure of the shape and define the balance of symmetry, just as this symmetry is defined in the product’s exceptional quality characteristics.
The brand’s color code directly refers to the product’s very nature and origin, through the net shades of olive colors and the complementary lighter contrast.
Finally, the number 80 was also a main inspiration in the design of the corporate identity and brand’s visual elements and slogans. It takes 80 years for an olive tree to bear its first ripe fruit. Therefore, this concept includes: 80 years of anticipation, 80 years to yield stability, and 80 years to remember, which make up the framework behind Oblivion’s brand identity.
Corporate Identity implementation
The corporate identity for the production company and the Oblivion olive oil was implemented in the design and creation of all printed and digital communication materials, in the design of the product’s packaging, as well as in the design and creation of their website.
